Addiction
counselling
Shame and unresolved mental health concerns are often the underlying problem, addiction is a maladaptive attempt to cope with these problems. When working with our counsellors you can expect a non-judgemental and unconditionaly supportive enviornment to start healing.
Addiction thrives in isolation, and tends to improve with connection. At the heart of our clinical approach is person centered counselling, and a focus on developing a strong therapeutic relationship. We follow the principles of recovery, harm reduction and strengths based counselling to help you improve.
Clients report benefiting from the evidence based approaches used to treat their addiction, however, having a long term trusting and compassionate relationship with their counsellors is hugely beneficial. This relationship is the foundation and inspiration for creating lasting change, and in some cases reaching the maintenance stage of addiction where symptoms are well managed, and risk of relapse is low.
